Description
Top/Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph Required Description for the Database Administrator: the individual will be on the DB Team and be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining multiple operational, test, and development database servers and instances on Red Hat Linux platforms. The individual will work the day shift and also provide periodic 24x7 Operational DB support rotating on-call duties with the other DB Team members. Daily duties will involve assisting development/testing/operations teams with database problems/questions, including: export/import of database schemas to new databases, SQL syntax assistance, installations of new Oracle software, updates to existing software, monitoring database activity for space or hardware issues, and providing performance tuning assistance when required. Other duties will include implementing and utilizing backup and recovery procedures for multiple databases, using RMAN, export and hot backup strategies; assisting developers/system engineers in designing more efficient database, tables, code and procedures; and documenting database information in a configuration management package. Additional duties will include assisting in the planning and implementation of an upgrade strategy to Oracle 11g from 9i. Requirements: five years of Oracle experience. At least three years of Oracle DBA experience. At least three years of UNIX environment experience. At least three years of experience with Oracle9i. At least three years of experience with database maintenance, backups and recovery. At least three years of experience with Oracle RMAN. At least two years of experience with Oracle RAC Assets: Oracle 10g or 11g experience. Partitioned Database experience. Oracle Performance Tuning experience. Oracle PL/SQL experience. Oracle Dataguard experience. Oracle Replication experience. Oracle ASM experience. Java/JDBC experience. Linux experience PolyServe clustering file system experience. Understanding of software development/methodologies Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers. Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 15+ Years with Bachelors; 13+ Years with Masters Security Clearance Required.
